About the Chapbook
“Stuff I Wrote from My Heart: Part One: The Ingenue” is the first installment in a series of poetry collections that I began writing during my high school years. This collection holds a special place in my heart as it captures the thoughts, emotions, and reflections of a younger me as I was navigating the complexities of life, identity, spirituality and growth. This poetry chapbook is written under my ‘non de plum’ (or, pseudonym) “Margalo Meeks”.

Each poem in this chapbook is a piece of my journey, shared with you in the hopes that it resonates, inspires, or simply offers a moment of connection. Whether you’re a long-time lover of poetry or new to the genre, I believe there’s something here for everyone.

Why I Chose to Self-Publish
Deciding to self-publish was both empowering and challenging. It allowed me to maintain complete creative control over my work, ensuring that every word and illustration (beautifully crafted by the talented Taki Richards) stayed true to my vision. While it takes a lot of work and follow-through, the support from this community has been incredibly motivating, and I’m excited to finally share this project with you.
